Photographed Collections

Creating photographed collections of objects is simple and satisfying. Choose what you want to infuse into the image. Maybe it’s a collection of joyful objects, perhaps it’s a colour that feels peaceful, or maybe it’s a collection of objects that represents play for you.

You will need: a camera (or phone), objects, background

  1. Choose some interesting objects

  2. Choose your background

  3. Try out different layouts

  4. Take some photos

Project Tips

  • Arrange your objects on a plain background (e.g. white or coloured paper, or a wooden surface)

  • Choose a theme (e.g. colour, type of object, shape)

  • Use natural, indirect light if possible to minimise shadows (watch the video for more tips)

  • Avoid a light above your layout otherwise you’ll get a shadow from your camera
